Declan Zane is a guitarist, composer and artist based in Melbourne, Australia. He is well versed in many different genres such as blues, pop, rock, country and metal. He also composes and performs his own original material, with plans for an album in 2020.
Declan was introduced to music at an early age, growing up on his dads collection of albums, with a deep love for classic rock bands such as Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Rush, Deep Purple and Pink Floyd. This led to Declan picking up the guitar and many hours of dedicated practice.
As an artist, Declan has performed on many occasions in both bands and as a solo artist. He played in bands throughout high school, playing iconic venues such as the Espy and the Thornbury Theatre. As a solo artist, Declan has performed at various festivals, such as The Basin Music Festival, where he also won best performer on the Youth Stage in 2015. Declan was incredibly honoured to play a support set for Melbourne blues legend Geoff Achison and Andy Layfield in 2016, a career highlight. Declan was also a founding member of the alternative rock band Wishful Creatures in 2018, appearing on the singles 'Loaded Gun' and 'Glasgow'.
After this venture, Declan focused himself on writing and recording demos for an upcoming EP. Moving away from the blues and alternative scene, this EP promises a modern blend of Hard Rock inspired by the 80s rock scene Declan holds very dear to his heart. Expect hard hitting riffs and blistering solos coupled with Declan's heartfelt vocal approach.
As a guitarist, Declan is dedicated to serving the song. He has conducted session work at Audio Visual Media over the last two years, contributing guitar to Da Vinity’s upcoming hip-hop album and other projects. 2020 will see Declan continue working on different projects.
Declan is available for both session and live work and is proficient in both acoustic and electric guitar. He is also a accomplished singer, with experience in lead and backing vocals.
He is dedicated to providing a professional service, from recording, writing and collaboration, to live performance.
